My budget design sprint

28th October, 2022

Updated: 28th October, 2022

Proposal for a ‘Design Sprint’ in the loosest possible sense!

Will need to condense this down given time available!

‘Monday’ - everyone (decider, tech, ux, content)

    • Map out the problem
      • “We want to create a prototype of x”
    • Pick a place to focus on
      • eg “We know that the technology choice could be an issue since we have limited time and whichever one we choose for alpha will be the final choice - this lets us try out other options”
      • Eg “We want to focus on how someone finds out what they need to do to sign off sick ”
    • We will need a decider (or two) present in this session to make the ultimate decision after everyones voted
    • Do some how might we’s

‘Tuesday’ (ux, tech - anyone else who can come)

    • Sketch prototypes
      • The Four-Step Sketch - When you’re done, place the sketches in a pile and save them for tomorrow.
        • Notes. Twenty minutes.
        • Ideas. Twenty minutes. Privately jot down some rough ideas. Circle the most promising ones.
        • Crazy 8s. Eight minutes. Fold a sheet of paper to create eight frames. Sketch a variation of one of your best ideas in each frame. Spend one minute per sketch.
        • Solution sketch. Thirty to ninety minutes. Create a three-panel storyboard by sketching in three sticky notes on a sheet of paper. Make it self-explanatory. Keep it anonymous. Ugly is okay. Words matter. Give it a catchy title.
    • Meanwhile - start scheduling testing sessions

‘Wednesday’ (ux, tech - anyone else who can come)

    • Turn all the prototypes into a testable hypothesis
      • Take all prototypes - everyone votes with n number of dots
      • Discuss each
      • Everyone votes for their favourite
      • Decider votes on final one
    • Storyboard with the final layout

‘Thursday’ (tech - anyone else who can come)

    • Build the prototype (Tues/Weds might need to be condensed as this will take more time)
    • Create questionnaire for testing

    ‘Friday’ (everyone - ux, content)

    • Test the prototype along with our hypothesis,
