Lawn maintenance

We often get asked how we keep our lawn green:

1. Water the lawn at dawn or dusk in the height of summer - we use a sprinkler (shown) - don't water it in the middle of the day or it burns SAt.

2. Start to water the lawn weekly at dawn and dusk in late spring (i.e. now)

3. Cut the lawn regularly when it starts growing in spring

4. Rake out weeds then sprinkle grass seed and some compost over the lawn in earlv spring and let it get rained in "overseeding"

5. Fertilise the lawn once a year in spring when it's fair and after overseeding

6. Don't walk on the lawn in winter and autumn when it's damp and mushy or frosty
